Hido or Hiirido is the Japanese term describing the lustrous pink patina on this sweet handmade set. Copper is heated to a bright cherry red and plunged into a bath of borax solution to obtain these dusty rose and cranberry shades on the copper surface. It hold its sheen reasonably well. I have pieces in my personal collection that are 30 years old and the finish is as vibrant as it was when first created. Hand stamped and formed, this copper jewelry set is designed for everyday wear.
